Tony Romas - tasty burger and flatbread appetizer

Food 7.5/10, Service 7.75/10
Yes, I know, I'm supposed to come here for ribs cuz that's what they're famous for. But after a long day of moving and dusty as heck, even after washing our hands throughly, we were too pooped to eat ribs, and hit up a Tomy Roma's for a quick bite to eat. We were eated quickly and our waitress was friendly, though the kitchen took a while to assemble a flatbread appy, a burger and a sandwich, despite us counting a total of 5 occupied tables.

the APPY
Steak and Wild Mushroom Flatbread
Crisp flatbread is first spread with a creamy horseradish sauce - its tasty, though at times there was way too much on the flat bread completely overwhelming all the other flavours as you'd just get a bite full of sauce. It was topped with melted Havarti cheese, crumbled salty Bleu cheese, a smattering of wild mushrooms, diced red peppers, green onions, parsley and strips of really really really overcooked grilled beef tenderloin. While on the salty side and a bit too sauce-y, the corner pieces that had a more even distribution of toppings was quite tasty. The grilled steak resembled bland jerky, and the dish would have been far better without the meat altogether.

the ENTREES
Crispy Onion Burger
A tasty seasoned grilled burger topped with crispy fried onion rings, lightly drizzled in Tony Roma's addictively tasty tangy sweet Original BBQ sauce and melted cheddar cheese. Super tasty burger. Mmmmm!

Turkey Cheddar Melt
Thinly sliced roasted turkey breast served toasted with a bit of melty cheddar cheese, bacon, tomato slices, crispy onions and Tony Roma's Original BBQ sauce. Ahh. Now that I'm writing out what was actually listed on the menu, I realized why my sandwich was so dry... they forgot the sauce!!! That would have made this sandwich much tastier as the bacon was soggy, the sheer amount of thick cut raw onions overwhelmed as soon as you took a bite.. and it was dry dry dry despite the little piece of tomato in the centre. The forgotten BBQ sauce would have definitely helped. Didn't bother eating the pickle as it looked like it had been sitting out for hours.. incredibly dried out. At least my boiled broccoli and mashed potatoes were ok. I ended up finishing half the sandwich because I was hungry... and a few bites of my boyfriends yummy burger

the VERDICT
Overall, I'd return for thier ribs and burgers, but definetely not the sandwiches!
