If you're wondering why the sudden spurt of burger joints on the blog - been craving them during the months leading up to the wedding... which isn't doing any favors for my waistline, but hey, getting in lots of manual labor exercise with landscaping the side yard so not feeling too guilty about it. The gown has a lace-up back too so it'll be more forgiving heehee! Anyhoos, so on a weekend where we were planning to hit up The Burger's Priest, they were closed for some reason, so we hit up Fatburger instead to satisfy our burger craving. Mikado southside Edmonton, AB - tasty sushi rolls and Japanese fusion fare
A few weeks ago for Mother's Day weekend, we stopped by Mikado Southside for lunch after running some errands. The downtown location and southside have different chefs and likely run by different owners - mom likes the southside one as they're more consistent than the downtown location. Congee Queen Scarborough, ON - awesome comfort food congee and other tasty Chinese eats!
On one of the last nights in Toronto during the Easter long weekend, I think we're making it a tradition now - we stopped at Congee Queen for some quintessential Chinese confort food - Congee! And fried rice and... well, you get the picture. Staff is friendly, the kitchen is quick and the restaurant is elegant in warm woods, browns and golds. We went around the table and my family just picked whatever they felt like eating... and since we all love carbs, and carbs usually play an integral part of comfort food.. bring on them carbs baby!! :D Onto the food!Monday, 15 June 2015
The Burger's Priest Edmonton, AB - heavyweight burger joint with mammoth secret menu items
A few weeks before Burger's Priest opened, all my friends that did schooling or grew up in the Toronto area were excited. Ok, my facebook nearly exploded with all their messages. So a few weeks after Burger's Priest grand opening, we hit it up - our schedules didn't allow us to go earlier and one Sunday they were unexpectedly closed to give their staff a much needed break after a crazy grand opening week. Onto the burgers!
