S'wich Food Truck Edmonton, AB - tasty gourmet sandwiches made with fresh baked bread, smoked and cured meats from scratch!
Its getting coooold outside and I'm going to miss the food trucks. Especially this one cuz it tends to roam around and I can actually run to grab the occasional delish sandwich from them... I can't easily get to the downtown food trucks without the travel time eating up all my precious precious preciousssssssss (you get the picture) lunch hour. Oooh, and on top of baking all their excellent bread they use for their sandwiches from scratch, they're also crazy enough to smoke and cure all their meats, and make all their condiments and tasty things they pile on top of their sandwiches in house too! And if that doesn't sell you, they got big hearts and donate all their tips to KidSport, a charity that provides sports equipment and opportunities to have-not kids so they're active and never left on the sidelines. Sunshine Pizza Unlimited SPU Pizza, Calgary AB - Delicious hand made halal Lebanese pizza!
Shortly after the aftermath of Central Alberta's horrific flooding that devastated countless homes and businesses, we were in Calgary to go to Stampede. Though most of Chinatown and downtown businesses and eateries were affected, plenty of ones that were spared stepped up to help out and in the case of eateries and foodtrucks, they stepped up to feed hundreds of volunteers in helping clean up. And it was during this time we came upon this little gem - after we spotted a pretty grungy and dirt spattered contractor pop in (since most ppl were still in clean up mode - mud splattered rainboots were fashionably in!)Monday, 23 September 2013
Bella Gelateria, Vancouver, BC - well deserved award winning gelato and sorbets!
We only managed to fit in gelato once at Bella Gelateria (sad!), but our foodie friends more than made up for us, having several flavors for almost every night they were in town! Cariwest Festival 2013, Edmonton, AB - gorgeous costumes, music, food and Caribbean flair at this summer festival!
I know, I've been backlogged a bit, and though this festival was back in the broiling hot days of summer, we can think back to them with longing as the days get cooler... and look forward to attending next summer's Cariwest Festival!Its a great way to spend what turned out to be a scorcher of a day.. with plenty of folks cooling off in the City Hall fountain.
