After a fun day seeing the sights in Augsburg and a quick trip to Germany's Legoland in Günzburg (see post here), we headed over to Riegele Wirsthaus Beir and Speisen for locally brewed delicious beer, sausage and gestacheltes bock - a heated rod in beer for a delicious treat! Established in 1386, this brewery originally called the Golden Horse was purchased and renamed in 1884 and now is the largest private brewery in Augsburg and is still family owned... going on into the fifth generation!Monday, 16 March 2015

Mushroom, mozzarella, sweet onion drizzled with honey and brie, pear and sweet onion thin crust pizza recipe!

After a successful brunch pizza topped with spicy capicolla, pancetta, onions and a runny egg (recipe here), I wanted some bianco pizzas - "white" pizza made without tomato sauce. So came up with these two tasty pizzas: Mushroom, mozzarella, sweet onion drizzled with honey and brie, pear and sweet onion. The honey and brie pizza came out more as a dessert pizza.. yum!

Bubble tea is beloved in Taiwan, and this chain from Taiwan knows their stuff. They have their own tea farm where they have been growing and producing tea for over 30 years. They have over 800 stores worldwide, expanded into Canada at a Toronto downtown location in Sept 2011, and they've newly opened in Calgary, just to the left of the entrance to Dragon City Mall. Lets get on to the bubble tea!

I love weekend brunches.. whether its getting together with friends for a brunch potluck (see our EYC brunch series here!), heading out to nosh on a lazy brunch, or rolling out of bed after a nice sleep in and tossing something together in the kitchen... its a glorious meal time! The last few weekends, I've been tossing together thin crust pizzas and here's one of the winners: a thin crust pizza topped with warm melty oogey gooey cheese, and all the elements of breakfast: pancetta stepping in for bacon, a hit of capicollo as ham and or course... nice and runny sunny side up eggs! Soooo awesome as breafast, brunch or heck whenever you want! Read on for the recipe...

Super fast and easy scratch roasted tomato sauce recipe and roasted garlic recipe the, perfect for pizzas, pastas...

I was hankering for some freshly baked pizza a few weeks back, so after picking up some fresh pizza dough balls from the Italian Market (available every Friday and Saturday morning - frozen ones easily defrost overnight in the fridge if they run out of the fresh stuff), I made a quick batch of scratch roasted tomato sauce to use on making pizzas on the weekend for brunch!
