In our 5 part series that covered the few days we had eating and exploring Copenhagen, Denmark.. we covered in Part 1 - hotdogs, icecream and snacks, and now its on to the Smørrebrøds! Smørrebrøds are delicious open faced sandwiches with local, traditional ingredients on a slice of (usually) rye bread and served with subtle and knock your socks off homemade schnapps! While there's probably hundreds of places to have Smørrebrøds in Copenhagen, with limited travel time and tummy space, we focused on the two best places to eat it... Michelin Guide-recommended Aaman's which has a more modern spin thanks to Chef Adam Aamann and his team (Address: Øster Farimagsgade 10, 2100 København Ø ), and Restaurant Schønnemann, serving traditional fare since 1877 (Address: Hauser Plads 16, 1127 København K). Since "best" is very subjective, we had to try them both.. for comparison's sake :)Wednesday, 15 October 2014

Over the next little while, I'll be posting up blog posts about our travels - haven't had time to post up stuff from last Caribbean trip and just finished one to Denmark, Germany and Austria, so going to make the effort to make time to post! Gonna start of by saying the folks in Denmark are so darn friendly, you just want to pick them up and hug them.. possibly most friendly country I've been in yet!

Nan Chuu Ramen Izakaya - Richmond, Vancouver BC - tasty ramen with a fusion spin
Posted by
We were craving ramen, and we had to be in the Richmond area, so it didn't make sense to drive into downtown Vancouver to eat at Santouka or Kintaro, so we hit up Nan Chuu Ramen Izakaya instead. Run by the same folks as G-men, we figured their ramen should be tasty! It looked promising as within several minutes of them opening (we missed the boat as we were circling for a parking spot), there was a huge line up out the door. I'm not sure if its a given at ramen places in Vancouver, or if its just coincidence... if its not a cool day, out prepare to sweat bullets as none of them seem to have a/c! Anyhoos, onto the ramen!!

Best ultimate gluten free chocolate fudge bean brownies recipe - you won't believe how healthy they are!

It sounded like food sacrilege to add beans to brownies. But there's plenty of awesome recipes out there that have zucchini added to cakes and muffins, squash or pureed yams/sweet potatoes to muffins and pies... so why not something we usually put into chilis or soups? After lots of sweltering baking sessions this summer (lookit what I sacrifice for you wonderful readers!)... here's the most guilt free chocolate fudgey brownie you'll ever sink your teeth into with blissful disbelief.
